Spirit of Schuyler
The Spirit of Schuyler is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to helping improve the quality of life in Schuyler County. Working with all County Organizations, the Spirit of Schuyler, through the generous donations of Schuyler residents and sponsors from around the country, provide financial assistance for Schuyler County residents in time of emergency. Through your donations you can be an important part of the true Spirit of Schuyler.

Scholarship Summary
Spirit of Schuyler (SOS) is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Schuyler County. Each year, SOS designates a separate fund to sponsor scholarship opportunities for hardworking individuals looking to further their education or career. Ideal candidates value and make contributions toward their own personal development as well as helping others and giving back to their community. In keeping with the spirit of the founders' wishes, preference will be given to those pursuing advancement in the field of the Arts. However, other fields may also be considered. The application is brief and focuses on the applicant's future goals and community involvement.
Eligibility
Open to any resident of Schuyler County with established plans to take the next step in their education, development, or career, including vocational studies and/or certifications. Those attending out-of-county schooling/training, etc. still qualify as long as their permanent address prior to attending school/training was located in Schuyler County.
Please be advised that current proof of enrollment will be required before any award is distributed.
Deadline and Notifications
All applications must be received in their entirety by June 1st. Applications may be submitted quickly online by following this link. Alternatively, print applications can be mailed to Robert Dill, Spirit of Schuyler, 2575 County Rd. 17, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
The Spirit of Schuyler board utilizes a scoring rubric (and blind-review process to mask personal identifying information) to select award recipients. All applicants will be contacted with the outcome of their application.
